Roya Candia, MA, LMHCA

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate

Roya Candia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in Washington State. She holds a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a Somatic Specialization and brings more than 20 years of study and experience in somatics, embodiment, and body-based practice.

Roya treats adults and youth aged 10+.

Since 2015, Roya has supported adults, adolescents, families, and groups across school-based, community mental health, nonprofit, and private practice settings. Her experience includes working with people navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, identity exploration, relationship concerns, emotional overwhelm, and significant life transitions.

Roya offers trauma-informed, culturally affirming somatic psychotherapy grounded in the understanding that our struggles do not happen in isolation. Our identities, relationships, cultures, communities, and social systems all shape how we move through the world and what we learn to carry in our bodies.

Drawing from somatic awareness, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), parts work, attachment-based approaches, and relational exploration, Roya helps clients slow down and listen more closely to their internal experience. She is passionate about creating a grounded space where clients can approach tender or difficult experiences with care, strengthen emotional regulation, recognize their existing capacities, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
